Stranger:The young boy knelt in front of the Poseidon statue in the Temple of the Gods, thankful for the temple being empty since it meant his father might appear to him. His belly was heavily swollen with the child of his lover, who was the son of Ares, and the young boy was eager to relay the news to the God of the Sea.
You:"What brings you here, boy?" a voice echoed from the darkness. Lightly, as if floating along, a male not quite out of his adolescence made his way into the sights of his young lover.
Stranger:"I'm here to speak to my father," the boy replied, glancing back for a brief moment before returning his attention back to the statue. "What brings /you/ here?"
You:"I wanted to be sure you were alright," he answered, looking down at his feet. "I was awakened, and you were no longer there..." he trailed off, staring in the direction of the boy.
Stranger:"I'm sorry if I scared you," the boy, Atticus, replied softly, standing up in order to waddle over to his lover. "I just thought that since /your/ father knows of our child, then so should mine."
You:Dante fondly pulled Atticus into his arms, elated that his lover was safe and unharmed. "It's alright. You only worried me, is all," he sighed, dropping a hand to rub the side of his extended belly.
Stranger:"I understand why you worry," Atticus murmured as he kissed Dante softly, "but really, I'm fine. A little bloated, albeit, but fine nonetheless. But the next time I leave our home, I promise to bring you with me."
You:Smiling into the kiss, Dante replied, "I don't mind. Only...let me know, alright? Now," he planted another kiss on his lover's lips. "Would you like me to leave you to speak with your father?" he questioned.
Stranger:"No, you may stay," Atticus reassured as he pecked Dante's lips teasingly. "I wish for him to meet the father of my unborn child, and the children soon to follow after it." He intertwined their hands on top of his rotund belly and turned to return to the statue, only to find his father leaning against his statue with a faint smile. "Father!"
You:Dante followed his lover's eyes to see Poseidon, the God of the Sea leaning against his own statue. He immediately prostrated himself upon the stone floor in the utmost respect. "It is an honor, sir," he said, keeping his eyes on the ground as he raised his head from the ground.
Stranger:"Oh get up, you fool." Atticus laughed, quickly approaching his father for a hug. "So you did hear my prayers after all. It's so good to see you, Father."
You:Smiling, Dante stood and watched as Atticus embraced his father. "My name is Dante, sir. It's very nice to make your acquaintance," he nodded towards the God.
Stranger:"It is nice to finally meet Ares' boy," Poseidon responded as he gently placed his hands on the sides of Atticus' stomach. "I see you two have made quick work of your time on Earth."
You:Dante laughed, "Yes, sir. It would appear so," he said, walking closer, and wrapping his arms around Atticus' shoulders.
Stranger:"We're in love," Atticus said with a dreamy sigh, eyes bright in joy. "We plan on marrying once the baby is born, actually. I can't fit into the proper wedding attire with such a large baby belly."
You:"You look beautiful, nonetheless," Dante replied, pushing a bit of hair out of his lover's face. "I can hardly wait for you to officially be mine, although it is now, and always will be true."
Stranger:Atticus blushed at the compliment and pecked Dante on his jawline, giggling softly. "You flatter me far too much, my love. And you're right, I will always be yours, whether or not we are wed."
You:"It is only flattery if it is untrue, my darling," smiled Dante, pulling his lover close, lavishing him with attention.
Stranger:Poseidon grinned as his son practically glowed from the love and attention Ares' son was showering him with, and he nearly felt the need to delay telling him what he'd came to inform them of. But with a sigh, he finally said, "I am afraid to inform you that you two must return to Mount Olympus."
You:The smile faded from Dante's lips as the news hit home. "Is there a particular reason we are being called back?" he asked in a guarded tone. He wasn't ready to leave, their family was just beginning, the baby was not yet borne. The life they made here would be for nothing.
Stranger:"There are talks among the Gods that Hades has taken an interest in Atticus and the child," Poseidon explained with a sigh. "Since you are both demigods, children born of your blood will be quite powerful. Hades might try to take the child for his own evil purposes, and he may very well keep Atticus for his son so that they could continue producing children."
You:Rage overtook Dante, and for a moment he saw red. Backing away from both his lover and his lover's father, he stalked about the temple, trying valiantly to reign in his anger. "Why does he want this!?" he yelled, "Is he coward enough to take a child to carry out his plans rather than do them himself!?" Taking a deep breath, Dante walked back toward his lover and embraced him tightly. "You can't leave me," he murmured.
Stranger:"I'll never leave you," Atticus whispered, kissing him softly. He nestled close against Dante and let out a quiet sob, burying his face in the crook of Dante's neck. "I-I won't let him tear apart our family. We've worked far too hard for our love and life here among the mortals." He began shaking, both from anger and from fear. "Who does he think he is? How dare he try to tear me from my love, only to keep my child and I locked in the Underworld?"
You:Dante held Atticus close, trying not to break down for the sake of both his lover and his child. "I swear to you," he shook, squeezing his lover a bit tighter in his grasp, "I will not let him take you." A sole tear ran down his cheek as he harshly inhaled, "As soon as we have the baby, we will wed. And then we can have as many children as your heart desires." He kissed Atticus passionately. "I love you...so much.."
